Originally a member of 70's power pop band The Quick, Steve was instrumental in putting Stan in touch with Leonard when he was on the lookout for a frontman. Steve also gave Stan some of his first guitar lessons.

Steve appeared as guitarist in the band's first line up following Chuck's suicide.

Things just didn't seem to work out though and he was soon replaced by Soctt Sindon.

He made a return to the band when they went back into the studio in 1983, and wrote , or co-wrote, 4 of the tracks featured on 'Stukas Over Disneyland'.

Steve's last involvement with the band was as a co-writer on 'Howdy Doody In The Woodshed'.
