Chuck was bought into the band by Leonard who'd known him since high school.

He had previously played in a David Bowie cover band with Karlos Kabellero.

His contribution to the Dickies is very clear on the early albums where he played (amongst other things) guitar, sax, and keyboards.

He became dissatisfied with the band after the release of Gigantor and quit, only to return shortly after to help out with some local L.A. shows.

Chuck became deeply depressed following a break up with his first girlfriend and after a show at Topanga Canyon in 1981, he returned home and commited suicide.
