The pictures and memorabilia in these galleries are all courtesy of Bob Mandoki.
Bob is sadly no longer with us but his brother Jim has been kind enough to send us all that you see here along with this message about Bob...

"Our older brother had bought an album by the group The Runaways. Then they went to the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood in 1977 when The Dickies opened for them. At that point Bob just was entranced with the whole punk scene.

He started going to all the shows he could taking pictures of all the bands, his favourite being The Dickies. Then one night he took a picture of the lead singer pissing on a guy in the crowd at the Whisky. He thought nothing of the picture except that it was pretty cool.

He kept on taking pictures, then The Dickies played a small club and he had some pictures enlarged to get autographed. They liked his pictures a lot and from there they became long time friends.

He would move their equipment for them in his truck, which he told me was a dream come true to be helping a band he was such a fan of.

When they played in Vegas they would come to my moms house and Stan loved her spaghetti, so she would make that for him.

The one thing that really blew him away was when the record Idjit Savant came out and he saw his name on the thanks to list, he was the happiest person in the world.

Things changed quite a bit for my brother after our mom passed away, he became depressed and withdrawn. I was not aware of his feelings and all the medication he was on, then i guess one day it just became too much for him to handle and he decided to take his life.

My brother was a very good photographer and The Dickies were his favourite band to shoot.

He was not just a fan but a FRIEND of the band".

Ciaron & Sean would like to extend their thanks to Bob's brother, Jim, for supplying these pics. Stay tuned for more soon...
